How to make it

  • In a microwave or a heavy saucepan, melt the chocolate chips.
  • Stir until smooth
  • Set aside
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites, vinegar, vanilla, cream of tartar, and the salt on medium speed until soft peaks form.
  • Add the sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time
  • Beat on high until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes
  • Fold in the melted chocolate until combined
  • Fold in the coconut and the almonds
  • Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto lightly greased baking sheets
  • Bake at 350 F for 10-11 minutes or until firm
  • Remove to wire racks to cool
  • Store in an airtight container
