How to make it

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350
  • 2. Combine brownie mix, crushed walnuts, flour, and baking powder in a large mixing bowl
  • 3. Whisk egg, egg whites, and vanilla extract in a smaller mixing bowl
  • 4. Add to brownie mixture and stir until well combined
  • 5. Divide dough into thirds (it will be very sticky) on a greased baking sheet
  • 6. Shape each portion into something that resembles a 7 x 3.5 inch rectangle
  • 7. Bake for approximately 24 minutes
  • 8. Remove from oven
  • 9. Let it cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes
  • 10. On a cutting board, cut biscotti with a serrated knife into 3/4 inch slices
  • 11. Place each piece on its side on greased baking sheets
  • 12. Bake approximately 12-15 minutes longer or until firm
  • 13. Let the pieces cool on wire racks
  • 14. Store in airtight containers
