The Essential Peanut Butter Cookie

- 1 cup vegetable shortening shopping list
- 1 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 cup dark bronw sugar shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter shopping list
- 3 cups flour shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 350 F.
- Lightly grease (or line with parchment paper) two baking sheets
- In a medium-size bowl, cream together the shortening, both of the sugars, eggs, vanilla, baking soda, salt, and peanut butter
- Add the flour.
- Stir to combine
- Drop the dough by the tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets
- Press down each cookie with a fork to make a criss-cross pattern
- Bake the cookie for 10 minutes or until they are lightly browned
- Remove them from the oven
- Transfer to a rack to cool
