How to make it

  • DOUGH:
  • Knead butter into flour with hands
  • Add yolks 1-2 at a time
  • Mix after each addition
  • Add salt
  • Mix
  • Form into walnut size balls
  • Place in lightly floured bowl and prinkle flour on balls to keep from sticking
  • Refrigerate overnight
  • Roll each ball into small circles
  • Add 1/2 tsp. spoonful of filling
  • Fold dough over and pinch edges together
  • Shape into crescent form
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet
  • Bake at 375F for 5-7 minutes till light golden brown
  • Cool on rack
  • Roll in fruit sugar
  • Beat egg whites until stiff
  • Mix together rest of filling ingredients
  • Gently fold into beaten egg whites
  • Fill dough as above
  • Store in airtight containers
  • May be frozen (if you manage to keep them around that long)
