How to make it

  • Sift flour with the salt, sugar, cream of tartar, soda and nutmeg. Beat the egg and add it to the milk. Work the butter into the sifted ingredients and then add the milk and egg. Roll out 1/2" thick, cut out with a doughnut cutter and fry in deep fat.
  • When cool sprinkle with powdered sugar.
