Griddle Cakes

This is from an old Pillsbury cookbook that is falling apart. I don't have the front cover and part of the pages are torn. So, I'm going to share these before the book is completely destroyed.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Pillsbury's Best shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 3/4 cups sour milk or buttermilk shopping list
- 1 level tsp soda shopping list
- 1 TBS melted butter shopping list
- 1 TBS sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Sift flour, salt and soda together. Add the milk slowly and beat till smooth. Then add the melted butter and fry on a slightly greased hot griddle. If desired, a well-beaten egg may be added at the last, when it will be necessary to use a little more flour. The cakes will be more tender without the egg. These cakes mey be made with sweet milk, substituting four level teaspoons of baking powder for the soda.
