Maple Puffs

This is from an old Pillsbury cookbook that is falling apart. I don't have the front cover and part of the pages are torn. So, I'm going to share these before the book is completely destroyed. Makes 12 puffs
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb maple sugar shopping list
- 1/2 lb brown sugar shopping list
- 2 egg whites shopping list
- 1 cup English walnuts shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped figs shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped citron shopping list
- 1/2 cup raisins shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
How to make it
- Boil the sugar and water until they spin a heavy thread. Beat the whites very stiff, gradually add the hot syrup to the whites, beating all the time. When the mixture begins to stiffen, add the other ingredients. Beat until it will hold its shape.
- Place by tablespoonfuls on greased paper and let stand until stiff.
