Chocolate Pudding

- 1 c. sugar (I use granulated fructose) shopping list
- 1/4 c. + 2 heaping T. cocoa shopping list
- 1/2 c. cornstarch shopping list
- 1/8 tsp salt shopping list
- 5 1/2 c. milk (I use 2%, whole milk makes it a little richer) shopping list
- 6 T. butter or margarine (butter is much better) shopping list
- 3 tsp. vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Measure sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt into a heavy saucepan. Stir to break up any lumps and to mix the cocoa into the sugar a bit.
- Whisk in milk. Put pan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened. Do not let it boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
- At this point you can put it into individual serving (1/2 c.) containers or in larger containers. I almost always seem to come up a little short on the 12th container but I think it's because I'm long on some of the other containers.
