How to make it

  • Put a little bit of oil in the bottom of your dutch oven.
  • Season the roast with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Brown both sides of the roast.
  • Add water until it is about 1/2 way up the roast. Put the lid on the roast and let it cook for about 2 hours.
  • When the roast is finished cooking, mix together the corn starch and about a cup of water in a separate container.
  • Remove the roast from the pot. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the roast juices while continuously stirring to prevent clumping.
  • Return the roast to the pot.
  • Serve the gravy over mashed potatoes or rice =)
