Baked Mac And Cheese

- 2 c (8 oz) dry elbow macaroni shopping list
- 4 tbsp non fat dry milk shopping list
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tbsp butter or margarine, melted shopping list
- 1 1/4 c boiling water shopping list
- 3 cups (12 oz) shredded American cheese (found at deli counter or packaged) shopping list
- 1/4 tspn kosher salt shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook macaroni 1 to 2 min longer than pkg directions, so pasta is soft but not mushy
- Drain
- In a large mixing bowl, combine dry milk, flour & butter. Whisking constantly, gradually add in boiling water
- Add 1 c of cheese and continue whisking until smooth & creamy, about 2-3 min
- Fold in macaroni, 1 more c of cheese & salt
- Transfer to a lightly greased 11x7 inch casserole dish & cover w/foil
- Bake 25-30 min or until sauce in center of casserole is thick & creamy
- Remove foil & sprinkle remaining 1 c of shredded cheese evenly over top
- Return to oven until cheese melts
- Serves 6
