How to make it

  • Cream shortening, add sugar and beat well. Add eggs one at a time and beat again. Sift remaining dry ingredients and add to first mixture. This dough may be divided, adding melted chocolate and vanilla to one portion, grated coconut to another. These portions may be made into sausage-like rolls, wrapped in waxed paper and place in the refrigerator overnight or until wanted.
  • Before baking, slice very thin. Bake in a hot oven on a baking sheet.
