How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  • for the crust

  • In a small bowl, combine graham crumbs, melted butter, and pecans until well mixed. Press into a greased 9-inch pie pan, set aside.
  • for the filling

  • In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Pour mixture into prepared crust. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool 1 hour on wire rack and refrigerate 1 to 2 hours.
  • for chocolate glaze

  • Place chocolate, shortening, and vanilla in a small saucepan. Cook on low, stirring every 1 minute until smooth. Remove from heat, stir and cool 1 minute. Spread chocolate glaze evenly on top of cheesecake. sprinkle with chopped pecans and allow to set, about 30 minutes. Keep chilled.
