How to make it

  • Cream the butter and brown sugar together thoroughly; add the eggs and vanilla and be sure it is thoroughly mixed.
  • Mix the salt, baking powder and baking soda thoroughly into the flour. Add it to the butter mixture and mix. The dough will be thick.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and mix. Do not use a cement mixer however tempting you find the idea.
  • Use about 2 TBSP dough per cookie, 12 to a standard cookie sheet. Spray the sheet with nonstick spray or use parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Bake for 8 - 12 minuted at 350° F.
  • This makes a huge lot of cookies but they never seem to last.
