- 4 cups brown sugar shopping list
- 5 eggs {6 if they're smaller} shopping list
- 3 or more TBSP real vanilla {don't use fake stuff!} shopping list
- 4 cups whole wheat flour shopping list
- 2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp salt {or a little more} shopping list
- 2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- a little nutmeg if you like it shopping list
- 4 cups rolled oats shopping list
- 4 cups Wheaties cereal {or wheat-based equivalent not cornflakes!} shopping list
- 2 pkg chocolate chips {semi-sweet or milk choc. or mix...} shopping list
- nuts if you like them {1 1/2 cups walnuts or pecans} shopping list
How to make it
- Cream the butter and brown sugar together thoroughly; add the eggs and vanilla and be sure it is thoroughly mixed.
- Mix the salt, baking powder and baking soda thoroughly into the flour. Add it to the butter mixture and mix. The dough will be thick.
- Add the remaining ingredients and mix. Do not use a cement mixer however tempting you find the idea.
- Use about 2 TBSP dough per cookie, 12 to a standard cookie sheet. Spray the sheet with nonstick spray or use parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Bake for 8 - 12 minuted at 350° F.
- This makes a huge lot of cookies but they never seem to last.
