Braised Kale

- 2 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 4 c!oves garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 bunch kale (about 1¼ pounds), leaves and stems coarsely chopped (see head note) shopping list
- ¾ cup canned reduced-sodium chicken broth shopping list
- ¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg shopping list
- kosher salt shopping list
- Freshly ground pepper shopping list
How to make it
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, warm the oil until it shimmers. Add the garlic and cook, stirring frequently until softened, about 1 minute. Add the kale and chicken broth, cover, and cook until the kale is very tender, about 10 minutes. Add the nutmeg and salt and pepper to taste and mix well. Transfer to a warmed serving bowl and serve.
