Ingredients

How to make it

  • Combine the first four ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Cool the mixture to lukewarm. Meanwhile, dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water. Once dissolved add to the mixture.
  • Add 2 cups of flour; beat well until smooth. Blend in the eggs and add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
  • Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth (about 8 minutes).
  • Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
  • For the Middle

  • Melt the 1/2 cup of butter, mix in the 1 Tbsp. cinnamon and 1/3 cup sugar (middle mixture).
  • Divide dough in half and roll each half of dough into about an 8x10-inch rectangle. Use half of the middle mixture on each 8x10 inch rectangle. Roll up like a jellyroll.
  • Place seam side down in a greased loaf pan. Cover the loaves with a damp cloth and let rise until doubled in volume, about 40 minutes.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until baked through and slightly golden brown.
