Butter Tarts

- DOUGH shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups of all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup freezing cold butter, chopped shopping list
- 3 1/2 tablespoon of ice cold water shopping list
- 1/2 tablespoon of white vinegar shopping list
- FILLING shopping list
- 1/4 cup softened salted butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup corn syrup shopping list
- 1 large egg, beaten. shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat to 350 degrees
- DOUGH
- 1. Freeze butter before hand and chop it coarsely
- 2.In a food processor, add in chopped frozen butter and pulse to sandy texture.
- 3.mix together cold water with vinegar and add half of mixture to the butter and flour
- 4. Pulse for 10 seconds.
- 5. Add in remaining water mixture and pulse until crumbly; yet when pinched, it holds together.
- 6. Working quickly turn out crumbly dough onto clean surface. Knead just until everything comes together.
- 7. Wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 40 minutes.
- FILLING
- 1. Mix corn syrup, brown sugar, and softened butter well.
- 2.mix vanilla and beaten egg together and pour into (1). Mix thoroughly.
- -Take out dough, mould in muffin tin and bake it in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes, until a light yellow colour, remove and add in filling (MAKE SURE NOT TO OVERFILL OR ELSE IT WILL BURN) 1 tablespoon - 1 1/2 tablespoon of filling each and bake in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes.
