How to make it

  • Preheat oven 350.
  • Brown and season the hamburger, add the onion and celery while browning; drain and set aside.
  • Slice off the top of the loaf of bread, set aside the top. Gut the inside of the loaf (don't make the walls of the loaf too thin) and put the gutted bread in a seperate mixing bowl. Set aside the hallowed loaf.
  • Break up the bread pieces; add in the soup, chilies and mix well. Add the meat mixture and mix well. Fill the hallowed loaf with the meat mixture and top with shredded cheese; place the loaf top back onto the loaf.
  • On a baking sheet place a sheet of foil with enough foil to wrap the loaf. Bring up the edges of the foil around the loaf and bake for 1 hour, or until the inside is bubbly.

    Ahh,let's just cut it down the middle...half Italian...half French...both great breads :o)
