Varsity Chowder

- 2 cups diced potatoes shopping list
- ½ cup sliced carrots shopping list
- ½ cup diced celery shopping list
- ¼ cup chopped onion shopping list
- 1-½ tsp. salt shopping list
- ¼ tsp. pepper shopping list
- 2 cups boiling water shopping list
- ¼ cup margarine shopping list
- ¼ cup flour shopping list
- 2 cups milk shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups cheddar – grated shopping list
- 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled (leftover ham works well, too) shopping list
How to make it
- Sauté veggies, salt, and pepper in soup pot.
- Add boiling water. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Do not drain.
- In a separate pot, melt margarine, stir in flour. Gradually add milk.
- Add cheese and stir until melted. Add bacon.
- Combine cheese sauce with undrained vegetables.
- Heat through – do not boil.
