Caliente Chili

- 1 pounds lean ground beef shopping list
- 1 pound ground pork sausage shopping list
- 1 (46 fluid ounce) can tomato juice shopping list
- 1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chiles (ex:rotel) shopping list
- 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chiles shopping list
- 2 chopped onion shopping list
- 8 stalks chopped celery shopping list
- 3 chopped bell peppers (assortment of colors green, red and purple) shopping list
- 1/4 cup chili powder shopping list
- 2 tablespoons ground chili ancho powder shopping list
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1 (15 ounce) can red beans, drained and rinsed shopping list
- 2 (15 ounce) cans chili beans shopping list
How to make it
- Place ground beef and pork in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
- Using the same skillet add the celery, let saute for about 5 minutes then add the onion and saute another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Add all ingredients to a large kettle. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
