~ Fly By Night ~
From 22566 10 years agoIngredients
- 1 1/2 ounces gin shopping list
- 3/4 ounce Maraschino liqueur shopping list
- 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice shopping list
- Maraschino cherry (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Shake the gin, maraschino liqueur, and lemon juice well with ice; then strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry, if desired.
- Note: Maraschino is a clear, dry liqueur made from Marasca cherries, including the crushed pits, that give it a nice subtle bitter almond flavor. It is then distilled very much like brandy, then combined with a pure cane syrup before it is aged.
- This feisty aviation prince was on the endangered species list and headed to oblivion, until a cocktail connoisseur searching for the every allusive Maraschino with the accurate precision of a heat seeking missile accomplished the mission. The vessel was shaken hard enough that tiny flecks of ice float, and in the delivering, one flat spin, then preceding with acceleration, and a slight after burn.
- Far and above one mighty fine...Well,if flying were the language of man, soaring would be its poetry...No one has ever collided with the sky.
- Fly low and slow and don't tip on the turns...and as for the noise of the engine... the sound of freedom...In thrust I trust...and as for the engine power... lots is good, more is better, and too much is just enough.
- Rule one... No matter what else happens, fly the airplane...Rule two...Fly it until the last piece stops moving.
- Never...and I mean NEVER...Be above forty thousand feet and let the autopilot jump out with the only parachute on board and leave you with nothing but a silk worm and a sewing kit.
- ~ The wisdom that enables us to recognize as an undesirable old acquaintance the folly that we have already embraced...Ambrose Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary, 1911 ~
- An airplane will kill you quick...a woman takes her time.
