Home-made Dark Brown Sugar

Making your own brown sugar is easy, economical and stays fresh so much longer than commerical packaged brown sugar. This yields a moist dark brown sugar. For light brown sugar decrease the molasses by half.
Ingredients
- 4 cups granulated white sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup unsulfured molasses shopping list
How to make it
- In a large mixing bowl beat sugar and molasses till completely blended.
- Notes: Store in a sealed container in a cool dark place.
- I like to use about 2 Tbs. of Black Strap molasses. I add this to my measuring cup first and then proceed to use unsulfured till my measuring cup is full. Using a little Black Strap makes a richer tasting brown sugar.
