How to make it

  • Prep the stuff: Slice, dice, peel, etc.
  • 1. I do soup in a Crock Pot so the frying steps are done in a small cast iron skillet and then added to the pot. If you’re doing stove top, just do it all in the pot and adjust times.
  • 2. Get out your cast iron wonder & heat it up a bit.
  • 3. Toss in the bacon and stir around a tad, add the sausage.. See Photo
  • 4. Add the onions and meatballs. Stir gentle, until onion starts to brown.
  • 5. Add the garlic and cook another minute, or two. Turn off the heat.
  • 6. Put the broth, or water, in the Crock Pot and set to high. See Photo
  • 7. Add the frying pan stuff and wine, if using a Crock Pot.
  • 8. Add the carrots, celery and bay leaf. Stir and let cook for two hours.
  • 9. Add the broccoli and mushrooms, cook another hour.
  • 10. Find and remove the bay leaf.
  • 11. Add the salt and FG pepper.
  • 12. Add the pasta and cook another hour, on low.
  • Times are sorta. Do it your way. If you want to go surfing, set the Crock Pot on low and adjust times. Haven’t been surfing for a while but fond memories, indeed. See Photo
