How to make it

  • Combine all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl
  • Cut in shortening
  • Add liquid ingredients (Milk, Eggs and optional vanilla)
  • Mix until batter is formed
  • Drop ladle fulls onto hot griddle (~350 deg F)
  • Makes about 32, 4-inch sized pancakes

  • If your kids want you to make "shaped" pancakes, add an extra 1/2 cup of milk to the batter (to thin it out), and using a baster or squeezable condiment bottle, make the shapes on the griddle.
