Italian-herb Cheese Bread

- • 1 cup milk. shopping list
- • 2 Tbs. sugar. shopping list
- • 1 tsp. salt. shopping list
- • 2 Tbs. butter, room temp. shopping list
- • 1 Tbs. dry onion, minced. shopping list
- • 2 tbs. Italian seasoning, more or less depending on how fresh your Italian Seasoning is. shopping list
- • 1⁄2 tsp. garlic powder. shopping list
- • 2 packages active dry yeast. shopping list
- • 1 cup warm water. shopping list
- • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded. shopping list
- • 4 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour. shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Heat the milk over medium low heat.
- 2. Add sugar, salt, butter, onions, garlic powder and Italian seasoning; cool to lukewarm.
- 3. Dissolve yeast in water, combine with milk mixture and cheese, stir in flour to make a soft dough.
- 4. Grease a cast iron skillet with butter and place dough in skillet; cover with waxed paper and a towel. Let rise until doubled (about 45 min).
- 5. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour until done.
- 6. Brush with butter.
