Ingredients
  • 2 (15-oz) Cans of Gooseberries (Drained, but save the juice)
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • About 1 Tablespoon Sugar (To sprinkle on top)
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 2 Pilsbury Deep Dish Pie Crusts
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter (Cut into four even pats)
  • 1 Extra Large Egg (Just the white)

Directions
  1. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and sugar together. In a mixing bowl, combine Gooseberries (drained), flour and sugar mixture and about a tablespoon of the gooseberry liquid. Stir until right consistency. Pour mixture into one of the pie crusts and place the four pats of butter on top of the mixture. Cover the pie with the other crust. Pinch around the sides. With a brush, brush the egg white on top generously. Sprinkle sugar on top until covered. Poke five holes on top. Place pie on a aluminum foil covered cookie sheet (Make the foil shaped like a bowl to catch any juices). Preheat oven to 325° F and bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.
