The Best Simple Hamburger

- - 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (80% lean and 20% fat) shopping list
- - 2 Tablespoons BBQ sauce (or steak sauce) shopping list
- - 1 teaspoon kosher salt shopping list
- - 1/2 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder shopping list
- 4 hamburger buns (I love using brioche buns!) shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Preheat the grill to medium high.
- 2. Combine the ground beef, BBQ sauce, salt, garlic powder, and pepper in a medium-sized bowl.
- 3. Mix just until combined with your hands and shape into 4 patties about 3/4-inch thick.
- 4. Make a well in your patties with your thumb to prevent from bulging.
- 5. Place burgers on the grill and cook 4 to 5 minutes.
- 6. Flip and then cook an additional 4-5 minutes, or until juices run clear.
- 7. Top with cheese slices, if desired.
- 8. Grill until cheese has melted and turn off the heat.
- Serve hamburgers on buns with your favorite toppings.
