Easy Mashed Potatoes

- - 4 pounds potatoes russet or Yukon gold shopping list
- - 1/3 cup salted butter melted shopping list
- - 1 cup milk or cream shopping list
- - salt & pepper to taste shopping list
- - 3 cloves garlic optional shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Peel and quarter potatoes, place in COLD salted water.
- 2. Add potatoes (and garlic if using) and cook uncovered 15 minutes or
- until fork tender.
- 3. Drain well.
- 4. Heat milk on the stove top (or in the microwave) until warm.
- 5. Add butter to the potatoes and begin mashing.
- 6. Pour in milk a little at a time while using a potato masher to reach
- desired consistency.
- 7. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
- 8. Use a little parsley for garnish
