Chocolate Hazelnut Cake

- 2 1/2 c flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 c sugar shopping list
- 1/2 c cocoa shopping list
- 1 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 2/3 c vegetable oil shopping list
- 2 T apple cider vinegar shopping list
- 1 tsp hazelnut extract shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla extract shopping list
- 2 c cold strong coffee shopping list
- FROSTING shopping list
- 2 2/3 c powdered sugar shopping list
- 2/3 c butter, softened shopping list
- 2 oz unsweetened baking chocolate shopping list
- 1/2 tsp hazelnut flavoring shopping list
- 2 T milk or coffee shopping list
How to make it
- In a large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients one at a time and mix well. Pour batter into a well greased 11 x 13 x 2 inch pan (or two layer pans). Bake 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees. Allow to cool 20-30 minutes before frosting.
- *FROSTING - In a small bowl, melt chocolate in the microwave. In a large mixing bowl, add powdered sugar, melted chocolate, butter, and hazelnut extract. Mix together, adding milk or coffee as needed. Beat until smooth and light. Frost cake.
