How to make it

  • In a large pan, fry bacon. Add pork sausage when bacon is 3/4 done.
  • While meat is cooking, empty the canned pease and tomatoes into a Dutch oven.
  • When the meat is done, remove it and add to the pot of pease and tomatoes.
  • Fry the onion and celery in the meat drippings.
  • Cool until celery is soft.
  • While onion mix is frying, add to the pot of beans the garlic 🧄, chili 🌶 powder, and brown sugar.
  • Add in the onion 🧅 and celery.
  • Pour in the water.
  • Turn on med heat and slow boil for 1 hr.
  • GREAT WITH CORNBREAD!!!!
