Spicy Guacamole
From sdeater 3 months agoIngredients
- 3 ripe avocados shopping list
- 1/4 cup finely diced red onion shopping list
- 1-2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and finely minced (leave some seeds in for extra heat, if desired) shopping list
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro shopping list
- Juice of 1-2 limes (start with 1 and add more to taste) shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin (optional, but adds a nice smoky flavor) shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional) shopping list
- Salt to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Prep the avocados: Cut the avocados in half lengthwise, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
- Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the avocados to your desired consistency.
- Stir in the diced red onion, minced jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.
- If you're using cumin, or garlic powder, add them now and stir well.
- Squeeze the lime juice over the avocado mixture. Start with the juice of one lime and add more to taste.
- Season with salt: Add salt to taste. Start with a pinch and adjust from there.
- Give a taste and adjust the seasonings as needed. You might want more lime juice for tang, more salt to bring out the flavors, or more jalapeño for heat.
