- 1 1/2 lbs. round steak, cut into bite size pieces shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. margarine shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 cup sliced onion shopping list
- 2 celery stalk finely chopped shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. pepper shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. thyme shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic thinly sliced shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- 1/4 cup red wine shopping list
- 2 cups potato cubes shopping list
- 2 cups thinly sliced carrots shopping list
- 1- 10 oz. can mushroom pieces shopping list
How to make it
- Add steak a few pieces at a time to margarine and cooking oil in a frying pan. As it browns, remove to medium size saucepan. Add more margarine and cooking oil to frying pan as needed.
- Add next 8 ingredients to saucepan. Stir. Cover and bring to a boil. Simmer until meat is tender, about 2 hours.
- Add potato and carrot to meat adding more water as needed. Cook until tender
- Stir in mushrooms and cook another 5 - 10 minutes.
- * Is great with Molson Bread.
