Imitation Banana Ice Cream with Chocolate Sauce

- Ice Cream: shopping list
- 2 lg ripe, frozen bananas, sliced shopping list
- 2 Tbsp sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 c 1% milk shopping list
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- chocolate Sauce: shopping list
- 2/3 c water shopping list
- 1/4 c sugar shopping list
- 3 Tbsp cocoa shopping list
- 2 tsp cornstarch shopping list
- 2 tsp butter shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- To make ice cream:
- Combine the banana slices, sugar and 1/2 cup of milk in a food processor or blender. Puree until smooth. Add cinnamon , vanilla and the remaining 1 cup milk. Puree until smooth. Transfer into an 8X8 inch metal or plastic container. Cover and freeze for 4 hours. or overnight.
- Remove from freezer and break up the mixture with a knife. Working wigh half of the mixture at a time, proess briefly in processor or blender. The mixture will transform from icy to smooth. Use a rubber spatula to poke the mixture down. Returh it to the container, cover, and freeze for at least 30 minutes before serving. (makes about 3 cups ice cream)
- To make Chocolate Sauce:
- Combine the water, sugar, cocoa and cornstarch in a medium saucepan. Stir with wire whisk until smooth. Cook over medium heat,stirring frequently with a wooden spoon until smooth and thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla. (makes about 3/4 cup sauce)
