Maple Walnut Cream Pudding Recipe
This recipe comes from an old "Piggly Wiggly Cookbook" - it sounds different and fun.

Ingredients
  • 1 pint milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp cold milk
  • 1 tbsp granualted gelatine
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Directions
  1. Heat milk in double boiler and pour it slowly over the well-beaten yolks of eggs; return to double boiler and cook five minutes. Add gelatine which has been softened by soaking for five minutes in two tablespoons cold milk. Add salt. Remove from fire and add maple syrup. Let cool and when beginning to set add chopped nuts and vanilla nad fold in stiffly beaten egg-whites. Turn into chilled molds and cool. Serve with or without whipped cream.
