Applesauce Bran Loaf

- 1 cup whole wheat flour shopping list
- 3/4 cup Natural wheat bran shopping list
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (not packed) shopping list
- 2 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 egg, lightly beaten shopping list
- 1 cup Applesauce-Unsweetened shopping list
- 1/2 cup plan yogurt shopping list
- 2 tbsp safflower oil shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375F (190C). Grease 8 by 4 inch loaf pan
- In large bowl, whisk together flour, bran, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and baking soda. In another bowl and using a wooden spoon, stir together egg, applesauce, yogurt and oil; stir into bran misture just until moistened. Do not overmix. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
- Bake in centre of oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until tester inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan to cool fully.
- Per serving:190 calories;5 g fat; 210 mg sodium;33 g carbohydrates;5g fibre;5g protein. SOURCE OF FIBER
