Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

- 1 c butter shopping list
- 2 c sugar shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 4 c all purpose flour shopping list
- 4 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 2 c sour cream (don't use light or fat-free) shopping list
- 2 c semisweet chocolate chips shopping list
- Glaze: shopping list
- 2 c semisweet chocolate chips shopping list
- 6 tbsp butter shopping list
- 4 tbsp half-and-half shopping list
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil shopping list
How to make it
- Grease and flour a 12 c bundt pan or tube pan.
- Cream butter and sugar then add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Beat in the vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda then add to the creamed mixture alternately with the sour cream.
- Stir in the chocolate chips then pour into prepared pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes then turn out onto a cooling rack. Let cool completely.
- For glaze, in a small saucepan heat half-and-half and butter just to a simmer. Add the chocolate chips and stir until completely melted.
- Stir in the oil until it forms a shiny glaze.
- Pour decoratively over cooled pound cake.
