My kids love this pound cake cooked in a bundt pan and covered in a chocolatey glaze. It doesn't last long... :)

Ingredients
  • 1 c butter
  • 2 c sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 c all purpose flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 c sour cream (don't use light or fat-free)
  • 2 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • Glaze:
  • 2 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp half-and-half
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions
  1. Grease and flour a 12 c bundt pan or tube pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar then add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Beat in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda then add to the creamed mixture alternately with the sour cream.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips then pour into prepared pan.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes then turn out onto a cooling rack. Let cool completely.
  8. For glaze, in a small saucepan heat half-and-half and butter just to a simmer. Add the chocolate chips and stir until completely melted.
  9. Stir in the oil until it forms a shiny glaze.
  10. Pour decoratively over cooled pound cake.
