How to make it

  • Grease and flour a 12 c bundt pan or tube pan.
  • Cream butter and sugar then add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Beat in the vanilla.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda then add to the creamed mixture alternately with the sour cream.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips then pour into prepared pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean.
  • Cool for 10 minutes then turn out onto a cooling rack. Let cool completely.
  • For glaze, in a small saucepan heat half-and-half and butter just to a simmer. Add the chocolate chips and stir until completely melted.
  • Stir in the oil until it forms a shiny glaze.
  • Pour decoratively over cooled pound cake.
