Red Chile Sauce

- 4 tablespoons red chile powder shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon oregano shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups boiling water shopping list
- 3 tablespoons flour shopping list
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil shopping list
How to make it
- Put red chile powder, salt, cumin, oregano, onion powder and minced garlic in a medium sized bowl.
- Pour boiling water over mixture, stir well and set aside.
- In a 2 quart saucepan, brown the flour in the cooking oil over medium heat, being careful not to scorch.
- Stir in chile powder mixture and bring to a boil.
- Lower heat and simmer 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Makes about 3 cups.
