How to make it

  • Cook the bacon in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat, until browned evenly. Drain (saving the drippings for later), crumble and place aside.
  • In a medium saucepan with a little water, warm the sauerkraut over a medium heat. Add in the bacon, sugar and 3-4 tablespoons of saved bacon drippings. Cook for 20 minutes, until heated through. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
