Ingredients
  • 2 lb ground round beef
  • 3 chopped onions
  • 2 diced green peppers
  • 6 mashed garlic cloves
  • Extra virgin olive oil for sauteing
  • 3 ripe, chopped tomatoes
  • 1-1.2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon green olive juice (liquid the olives are packed in)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1/4 cup chopped pimiento-stuffed green olives
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1, 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbs. tomato paste

Directions
  1. Sauté onions and green pepper in olive oil till soft. Add garlic and saute 30 seconds. Add meat and salt. Stir frequently five minutes. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste and stir. Add rest of ingredients and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes.
