We stumbled across this recipe in an old recipe box and decided to try it. We really liked it.

Ingredients
  • 2 T butter
  • 8 sl. bread
  • 1/2 lb. cooked ham, ground or chopped
  • 1 1/2 t. spicy mustard mixed w/1T milk
  • 1 t. parsley
  • 8 oz. maple smoked cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 3 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • dash pepper

Directions
  1. Butter an 8" glass baking dish.
  2. Trim crusts from bread and fit 4 slices into dish.
  3. Combine ham with mustard and parsley, and mix well.
  4. Spread ham on half the bread, then sprinkle cheese over ham.
  5. Top with remaining slices of bread, cut diagonally.
  6. Combine milk with eggs and seasoning and stir well.
  7. Pour mixture over bread.
  8. Let stand for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 325 degrees for 55 minutes.
