How to make it

  • Peel and chop apples
  • add sugar and pie seasoning, mix well
  • add gluten free flour mix, mix well
  • pour in pie shell
  • in a saucepan melt butter
  • when butter is thoroughly melted, add butterscotch
  • stir together until melted, remove from heat
  • add rice flour, a little bit at a time, until the mixture forms a thick paste with some texture to the mouthfeel
  • allow to cool to almost solid
  • drizzle chunks over the pie filling, and spread to form the pie top
  • bake at 375 for about an hour or until the crumb top is deep brown
