Ingredients

How to make it

  • Remove all the foil protective label from the peanut butter jar and microwave for 1 minute. If not completely melted continue microwaving in 30 second intervals.
  • On the stovetop in a large saucepan boil sugar & syrup together, until the edges & middle boil a little, turn off heat.
  • Add the melted peanut butter, stir until well mixed.
  • Pour cereal into the sugar/peanut butter mixture; mix well, being careful as to not crumble the cereal to much.
  • Spray a 13x9x2-1/4 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Place cereal mixture in pan and level it out.
  • **DO NOT** press the mixture down very much or else it will make the bars very hard.
  • Let cool before preparing the chocolate-butterscotch chip topping. (We will place the pan in the freezer to give it a jump start)
  • When the bars have cooled start preparing the topping.
  • In a microwave safe bowl combine the butterscotch & chocolate chips.
  • Microwave for 2-3 minutes. Stir until creamy.
  • Pour over the cereal mixture. Once topping has hardened, cut into desired sized bars.
