How to make it

  • Mix cake mix according to directions on box.
  • Pour 1/2 batter into greased pan (9x13 inch oblong). Bake for 20 minutes at 350F.
  • Melt caramels with margarine and milk.
  • Poke holes in cake. Pour mixture over hot baked cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped nuts over caramels.
  • Pour rest of cake mix on top and bake 20 minutes at 250 degrees, then bake 10 minutes at 350.
  • Cool before cutting. Frost with any chocolate frosting or use whipped topping.
