FRIED RICE AND PASTA

- vegetable cooking spray shopping list
- 1/4 c. thinly sliced celery shopping list
- 1/4 c. thinly sliced green onions shopping list
- 1 tbsp. reduced calorie margarine shopping list
- 1/2 c. long grain rice, uncooked shopping list
- 2 oz. vermicelli, uncooked & broken into 1/2" pieces shopping list
- 2 c. hot water shopping list
- 1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. chicken-flavored bouillon granules shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder shopping list
How to make it
- Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray; place over medium-high heat until hot. Add celery and onions; sauté until tender. Transfer to a serving bowl and set aside. Coat skillet with cooking spray; add margarine and place over medium heat until margarine melts.
- Stir in rice and vermicelli; cook over medium heat until vermicelli is lightly browned, stirring frequently. Add water, sautéed celery and onions and remaining ingredients to rice mixture. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 15-20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Stir before serving.
- Yield 7 servings. (1/2 cup serving)
