Ingredients

1 pound ground chuck

1 large onion -- chopped

1 clove garlic -- crushed

15 ounces tomato sauce

2 tablespoons chili powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1 cup water

8 frankfurters -- cooked

8 hot dog buns -- split and toasted

2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Chopped green onions

Directions

Combine first 3 ingredients in a large skillet, and cook over medium-high heat until beef is browned, stirring until it crumbles; drain. Add tomato sauce and next 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Place frankfurters in buns. Spoon chili mixture over frankfurters; top with cheese and green onions.
