Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts, optional

Directions
  1. Cream together butter, sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy
  2. Beat in eggs
  3. Sift together flour, soda and salt
  4. Gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing until well blended
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts
  6. Bake at 375F for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned
