How to make it

  • Beat the eggs and cream in a shallow, medium sized bowl until combined
  • Fry the ham until lightly cooked and remove from heat for later use
  • Melt the butter in a shallow frying pan or skillet on medium heat
  • Dip both sides of the bread with the egg and cream mixture and add to the frying pan
  • Cook one side until golden brown then flip (3 or 4 minutes)
  • Add a slice of mozzarella cheese then the ham and then another slice of mozzarella and stack the bread like a sandwich
  • Flip the bread one last time so that all four sides of the bread have touched the frying pan and the cheese has melted thoroughly
  • Serve with butter and local pure maple syrup
  • Note: Change this recipe by adding maple bacon and swiss cheese for a more unique flavor.
