How to make it

  • Filling
  • Sauté onion and garlic in oil until soft. Add curry powder and sauté 2 minutes.
  • Add mince and stir until well mixed with curry mixture. Add remaining
  • Ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes. The mixture must be dry. Cool.
  • Pastry
  • Sift dry ingredients. Rub in butter then add enough water to make stiff dough.
  • Chill for 30 minutes. Roll out to about 10 mm thick into a rectangle. Spread with the filling the roll up like a Swiss Roll. Seal edges with beaten egg. Place in a greased oven proof serving dish and brush the top with beaten egg.
  • Sauté onion, apple, carrot and garlic in oil. Add curry powder and turmeric and fry 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 10 minutes. Pour around the roll in serving dish and bake for 30 – 40 minutes at 180o C.
