Moms Meatloaf

- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef or ground chuck shopping list
- 1 lb. breakfast sausage with extra sage shopping list
- 1/4 C. dried chopped onion shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 1/2 - 2 C. roughly crushed corn flakes shopping list
- 1/2 t. coarse salt shopping list
- 1/4 t. black pepper shopping list
- catsup shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Crumble beef and sausage into large mixing bowl. With wooden spoon or hands mix to combine.
- Add onion, eggs, corn flakes, salt and pepper to meat mixture work ingredients with hands until thoroughly combined and will hold shape.
- Shape into loaf and place in a 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Make a trench 1/2 inch deep down the center of the meatloaf, fill with catsup.
- Add 1/2 C. water to pan. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
- Remove foil and continue to bake for 30 - 45 minutes until nicely browned.
- Note: Vegetables such as potatoes, carrots and celery may be placed in pan and cooked along with meatloaf.

loved the cornflakes. The loaf was firm which makes this great for meatloaf sandwiches the next day. My husband and I enjoyed it. the kids still don't like meatloaf. But hey who's cooking.
