Ingredients

3 1/2 cups all purpose flour

3/4 cup white sugar

1 tsp ginger

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 salt

3/4 cup molasses

3/4 cup butter or margarine

1 egg

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup hot coffee (or hot milk)

Directions

Measure the first 8 ingredients in order given into mixing bowl.

Stir the baking soda into the hot coffee. Add and beat the dough until thoroughly blended.

Drop by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheet.

Bake in the oven at 375 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes about 5 dozen
