Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies Recipe

How to make it

  • In large bowl stir together flour,cocoa,salt,baking powder,soda
  • Set a side
  • In mixer bowl beat together butter,sugar on low ,till fluffy
  • Add egg and vanilla,beat well
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture,beat till well blended.
  • Shape dough into 1 in. balls
  • Place onto ungreased cookie sheet
  • Press down center of dough with thumb
  • Drain maraschino cherrries,reserving juice
  • Place a cherry in the center of each cookie
  • In small sauce pan combine chocolate chips and Eagle Brand,heat until melted
  • Stir in 4 teaspoon of the reserved cherry juice
  • Spoon about 1 teaspoon frosing over cherry,making sure to cover all of the cherry
  • Many thin frosting with a little more cherry juice,
  • Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes
  • Remove to wire rack
  • Cool
